Hotel du Lac in Combourg

Never go alone because tables with more than one person will be served before you at dinner, not to mention the meat, which is bought in supermarkets and not from local producers.

The welcome also leaves something to be desired.

After much discussion with the locals, they recommend the Hôtel du Château (across the street).

An exceptional welcome for our group of 34 bikers, in an equally exceptional setting! The meal was excellent.

Family hotel, the manager and her daughters very professional and welcoming, very beautiful view of the lake

This is an old fashioned hotel, and I mean that in a good way. It feels family run, the staff are so welcoming and freindly, even the keys are real keys and not bits of plastic.
The location is lovely, overlooking Combourg's lake, the public areas are fine, I enjoyed an overlong nightcap in the bar!
I had a great night's sleep in a super comfy bed. It was so peaceful I assumed that the hotel was nearly empty at the end of a season. I was surprised to see how busy it was for the breakfast serving, it obviosuly attracts nice quiet guests!
